No, it was just a shallow, condescending, adult. That in my book is worse.
The fact that savage don’t even CONSIDER putting DB together shows that she didn’t follow the narrative and just did whatever the hell she wanted in season 6. It’s understandable if she thought about it and then decided against it. That would be different. But the fact that she ignored a story that was told for the seasons closest to the finale shows she didn’t give a damn about the narrative. The writers keep saying how they didn’t keep an endgame in kind and that they went with story but that can’t be true if you didn’t even consider one of the biggest couples that the show produced.
but gossip girl used to be…
adequate.
‘the Gossip Girl series finale, saving the best for last’

Awkward and not the least bit organic reference to Dan and Serena once being in love is indeed awkward. Yup, watching the clusterf**k that is Gossip Girl. Please keep your thoughts with me as I carry on.
* Please excuse my re-use of this photo, but it’s too perfect. Side-Note: Freaks and Geeks was indeed nearly perfect.
“… That’s part of the challenge of TV. But the cast still shows up every day and gives it their all. …”

[Well they do show up everyday.]
“… There’s not a scene that Leighton Meester is not showing up for and crushing. …”

[Is he watching the same show we are? I love Leighton, but the woman, nor the cast as of now, could win more than a television Razzie (if there was such a thing)]
“… Their excitement about the show ending is the same way you felt about college ending: You loved it, it was a blast, it changed your life, and the excitement is about what’s coming next. …”

[All in the past tense man. And Penn pretty much explained to Vulture I believe it was, that he only took the part for the money considering he was near broke at the time. And I’m sure it was a blast working together (the cast and crew) and all that comes with that. But take a good long, hard, look at their interviews and performances as of late. Love is not a word I would use to describe their feelings.]
That’s a wrap on filming #GossipGirl… Thanks to all - cast, crew, fans - for 6 amazing yrs! #6seasonsandsomelimosex
This guy is a fucking asshole #fuckyouandyourlameshow
↑ ACCURATE PHOTO AND STATEMENT IS ACCURATE ↑
I’m sure he is making some lame attempt to make a haha reference to fans trying to trend for their couple. But still, not cool dude.
CHUCK: Well, my hands may be momentarily tied when it comes to my mission against my father. Task me Blair.
BLAIR: I can’t. Tasks are for minions or Dan Humphrey.

What!?! - Dan run. Run and never look back! Run because the woman you loved and cared for all during her perils sees you as nothing more than a errand boy. I should be shocked that the writer’s have regressed Blair to such a degree and have reduced Dan and Blair’s relationship to this, but I’m not.
Just throwing it out there, but Nelly Yuki is smarter, wiser and better dressed than the rest of the Gossip Girl cast.
Dan and Serena may be getting married, but take comfort, because Blake Lively is costumed in one of the tackiest wedding dresses ever! It’s true.
So is there anything we don’t know about the GG finale?
They don’t even give us the suspense. They just finished filming and they release what is going to be the finale, months before it is aired? I don’t get it; after the dismal rating last weel, don’t you think they’d make it as ambiguous as possible to perhaps reel in all the lost viewers? Have they lost their minds? I’m really natefused here.
Me too. Me too.
A round of applause for Dan Humphrey. The man couldn’t have said it any better. And Blair’s speechlessness - her complete lack of words - says it all. Come let me love you Dan because you just gave me a reason to love season six.
That far off stare Rufus just gave was nothing more than Matthew mentally preparing for what he had yet to film with Kayle for the closing of the episode. True story.
I came in wanting to hate the season premiere of Gossip Girl, but I have to say this whole Dan and Georgina show is rather entertaining. Though by the time Dan and Blair share their so-called “adult conversation” I’ll be drowning in feelings forgetting everything else about the episode.
